Gas power equipment

Mower not running right????
In this post I'll explaing the way to store gas power equipment like mowers, trimmers small 2 cycle ect...
Unerstanding why most small engines have carb issues starts with fuel and proper storage when not in use for the winter and such.
Gas or fuel,
most gasoline in the US has many additives in it, most don't have any negative effect on small engines, how ever certain additives (the ones used to strech fuel and emissions additives) like
Methanol-Ethanol- both of these have a negative effect on the gaskets in a carburator.
it drys out primer bulbs, dissolves fuel lines, and turns into bad gas in days, all of which will cause a motor to fail.
Manufactures of small engines are making changes to make tolerant seal and gaskets, but they are in no rush....
STORAGE-
Do NOT store anygas powered equipment with fuel in the tanks, drain tank and run the fuel out of the carb before storing for an length of time.
Do Not use fuel stabilizer, the fuels today cause stabilizers to turn ito a gel, which if stored in the equipment it will result in failure and costly repair.
Make sure the fuel cap is in good order, the vent must be working properly, if not it will draw moisture in on cool nights and that means WATER in the fuel. 1/2 gallon of gas only needs 1/2oz of moisture to turn the fuel bad enough to cause your engine to run hard, stall, power loss, and hard starting.
90% of 2 cycle and 4 cycle engines that have hard start and are non-running only need a complete carb clean out.
